Charity Event For Alfie The Champ Saturday 29th July 2017
Alfie The Champ needs YOUR help! Alfie is 14 yr old, he has neuroblastoma and needs antibody therapy. This is the 3rd time Alfie is fighting this disease, a form of childhood cancer. They need to raise £600,000 as this treatment is not available on the NHS to relapse patients. On Saturday 29th July, a fundraising event will be held at The Lucan Pavilion in Laleham from 11.30am. This is a family day for everyone to enjoy with outdoor games and competitions, including ‘it’s a knock out’ for adults to participate, with music throughout the day, together with a live band in the evening. Shepperton Village Fair 2016

Since 1973, Shepperton Village Fair has been a major annual family event attracting thousands of visitors and this year’s event is being held on Saturday 11 June.   Held close to the Thames on Manor Park, the Fair kicks off with a large procession through the High Street, followed by spectacular arena displays, fairground rides, stalls, competitions and the famous Great Nauticalia Raft Race. The procession begins at 11.15am near Shepperton Rail Station and the theme this year is ‘colourful carnival’. It’s the year of the Rio Games, so let’s get in the mood. The Fair opens at 12noon and the Raft Race starts near Nauticalia at 1pm.  The Fair is organised by Shepperton volunteers and supported by local charities, organisations and businesses. Ashford on the Map Summer Fun Day: Sunday 5 June

This is a great day out for all the family and features over 120 stalls, dance and music displays, fairground and pony rides and refreshment stalls. The event is being held in the grounds of Brooklands College (Ashford campus) in Church Road and everyone is welcome to come along.  Entry for adults costs £1 which includes a ‘lucky programme’ – under 16s are free. Funds raised by the Ashford on the Map Committee has helped fund many community local improvements including the Christmas lights in Church Road and flowers displays in the town centre.
