Bluebird Care Elmbridge & Runnymede supports Carers’ Week 2018
Bluebird Care Elmbridge & Runnymede is supporting Carers Week 2018, an annual campaign raising awareness of caring from 11–17 June.
Carers Week highlights the challenges carers may face as well as the contributions they make to their community. The campaign is supported by individuals and organisations across the UK by promoting the importance of caring.
3 in 4 carers feel their caring role is not understood or even valued by their community, at Bluebird Care Elmbridge & Runnymede we hope to raise awareness of the support available to unpaid carers across the local community
This Carers Week, we’re coming together to build communities that support the health and wellbeing of carers. Around 6.5 million people in the UK are carers, looking after a parent, partner, child or friend.
Jonathan Billington, Director of Bluebird Care Elmbridge & Runnymede, said:
“Carers Week highlights the challenges carers can face and the support they might need. We hope that by supporting this campaign it will provide help to those caring in our local area, and make them aware of the support that is available to them.
A carer is someone who provides care and support to a family member or friend who has a disability, illness, mental health problem or who needs extra help as they grow older. Caring can be a hugely rewarding experience but sometimes carers find it challenging to take care of their own well-being whilst caring.”
The impact of caring on health and well-being should not be underestimated. This Carers Week, events across the country will be sharing examples of good practice when it comes to carers staying healthy.
Visit the Carers Week website to find out more about the campaign and how you can get involved – www.carersweek.org.

At the end of this month (28th October), one of our colleagues here at kick it radio, Abbie Baldwin will be participating in an abseil down London’s tallest helipad in the hopes of raising at least £300 for London’s Air Ambulance. This is a great charity who provide life saving care for those who need it most so if you can spare any money as a donation, no matter how small, it will go a long way to help benefit people who rely on the service that London Air Ambulance provides.
Thank you so much for your support, and please take the time to share this post with your friends.
