Young people took part in free skate and scooter sessions in Stanwell on Thursday 7 April to celebrate the official opening of the new Skate Park in Long Lane Recreation Ground.
The new park includes a variety of ramps and slopes which are designed for BMXs, skateboards and scooters and was installed after young people requested a skate facility and worked with the local Police and youth officers from Spelthorne Borough Council and Surrey County Council to raise funding.
Leisure Services Manager, Lisa Stonehouse, said: “This is a great new facility for the young people of Stanwell and it was fantastic to see so many young people enjoying the skate and scooter sessions laid on by Team Rubicon. I am sure that the young people will continue to enjoy using the skate park for many years to come.”
